GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — A residential fire in Gaston County resulted in two individuals being hospitalized and the complete destruction of a home belonging to the parents of NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin. The incident occurred at a residence on Blacksnake Road northeast of Stanley, where emergency responders demonstrated unwavering dedication. Initially, officials reported that one person was trapped within the home, but ultimately, two individuals were transported to the hospital, receiving medical attention. Their condition has not been disclosed. The Lucia-Riverbend Fire Department reported that the fire resulted in the total loss of the home. Due to limited water availability in the area, it took approximately two hours to extinguish the fire. Gaston County officials have stated that the investigation will continue into Monday. According to Lucia-Riverbend Fire Department Chief David Toomey, the residence is owned by the parents of NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin. A public records search indicates that the property is owned by a company managed by Hamlin. Hamlin has not commented on the situation. Multiple Gaston County fire departments responded to the scene to assist the Lucia-Riverbend Fire Department.
